If the Reds are going to make a change at the leadoff spot, the solution will come from the big-league roster.

“I don’t think we have anyone in the minors capable of the filling that role,” general manager Walt Jocketty said. “And, frankly, there’s no one available in trade right now. I think we’re going to try to fix it internally. We may be able to do something in trade later.

“We don’t have anyone in Triple-A ready to step into that role.”

The best available internal option is probably Chris Heisey. He has been on the big-league roster since Chris Dickerson went on the disabled list last week. Heisey has started one game but he hit seventh that night.
