Bronson Arroyo was not able to control the Philadelphia Phillies bats on Monday afternoon as the Phillies used five homeruns to beat the Reds by the score of 5-3. Pat Burrel hit two homeruns, Jimmy Rollins and Geoff Jenkins both hit one homerun off Arroyo.
The Reds were expecting a better performance out of Arroyo. His 5.2 innigs, four homruns, and five earned runs performance just isn’t going to cut it.
The Reds make it interesting in the 9th inning as they were able to load the bases off of Brad Lidge but Jose Valentin struck out looking to end the game.
The Reds will now travel to play the red hot Milwaukee Brewers.
