The Reds filled his spot by calling up infielder Drew Sutton from Triple-A Louisville. Sutton was batting .268 with two homers and 16 RBIs at Louisville, where he had a seven-game hitting streak intact.

The Cincinnati Reds have put right-hander Homer Bailey on the 15-day disabled list after tests found inflammation in his pitching shoulder. Bailey had to leave a game Sunday in Cleveland in the third inning because he felt tightness in the shoulder. Bailey was examined on Monday in Cincinnati. The Reds called up reliever Enerio Del Rosario from Triple-A Louisville to take Bailey's roster spot.
